Laurie Willburn joined Children’s Nebraska in November 2021 as the Vice President of Total Rewards and People Strategies. She is responsible for designing and executing HR strategies that foster Children’s culture and delivers on the organization’s People First Promise. In her position she oversees HR Strategic Planning, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Wellbeing, HR Information Systems, HR Service Center, Employee Relations and Employee Health.

Prior to joining Children’s, Willburn held HR leadership roles in healthcare for over 15 years. Willburn also worked for Gallup as the Global Compensation and Benefits Director to design compensation, benefit, and wellbeing strategies for their worldwide workforce. Willburn obtained her MBA with an emphasis in Human Resources from the University of Nebraska Omaha.

Willburn’s passion is implementing strategies focusing on physical, financial, emotional, social, and community wellbeing and providing mentoring and leadership opportunities for women in the workplace. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friend as well as offering emergency foster home placement for teenage youth.
