FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does the native Workday integration require Workday Studio or a customer-built API?
The supported native Workday connection is designed to avoid the need for a customer to build and maintain a separate Workday Studio integration or custom API connection for the standard supported workflow.
Implementation still requires Workday-side setup and authorisation. Depending on the connection, this may include an integration system user, an API client or credentials, permissions, security configuration, and other Workday tenant settings.
If an organisation needs data or workflows outside the supported native connection, it may use an API, secure file transfer, scheduled feed, or another configured method. The required technical work depends on the desired data flow and customer environment.
Can Awardco send reward and payroll information back to Workday?
Where the relevant payroll connection is supported and enabled, Awardco can provide configured reward and transaction information to Workday for payroll or finance processes.
Depending on the organisation’s requirements, the information may include employee identifiers, reward or redemption amounts, currencies, taxes or other transaction details, earning or payroll codes, programme information, and employee-status data. Organisations may configure the process around the event their finance and payroll teams use, such as award, redemption, or payment.
The delivery method, fields, cadence, Workday destination, review process, and tax-event treatment must be confirmed during implementation. Awardco provides technology and data to support the process; the organisation’s payroll and tax teams remain responsible for determining and processing the applicable treatment.
Can Awardco send reward and payroll information back to Workday?
Organizations can configure Awardco to receive the employee and organizational information needed for their programs. This may include identifiers, names, contact information, employment status, hire or service dates, manager relationships, location, department, entity, employee type, country, and other approved metadata.
That information can help maintain user records, determine eligibility, build organizational hierarchy, assign programs or budgets, personalize communications, and support reporting. Organizations should share only the data required for the intended workflows.
The available fields, mappings, values, and lifecycle events depend on the Workday tenant, the selected integration, and the organization’s configuration.
What can Awardco’s Workday integrations help automate?
Supported Workday connections can help organisations automate employee provisioning and updates, organisational hierarchy, eligibility, service anniversaries, onboarding, budgets, reporting, and other configured programme workflows.
Depending on the Workday products and Awardco capabilities enabled, organisations may also be able to connect payroll-related reward information or other employee-programme data. Some customers use separate connections for employee data, payroll, feedback, or other workflows rather than one connection that covers everything.
The available automation, data direction, fields, and refresh timing depend on the selected connection and the organisation’s requirements.
What does the Awardco–Workday partnership mean for customers?
Awardco’s Workday partnership supports integrations that connect Awardco with Workday-based employee, access, payroll, and other configured workflows.
For customers, the partnership is intended to support a more coordinated implementation than a connection built entirely from scratch. Depending on the products and connection selected, Awardco can help organisations use Workday data to administer recognition, rewards, engagement, and incentive programmes and return configured reward or payroll information to Workday.
The partnership does not mean that every Workday product, field, workflow, or customer configuration is supported in the same way. Organisations should confirm the specific integration capabilities, prerequisites, included services, and commercial terms for their implementation.
