Most companies run an engagement survey. Fewer know what to do with the results. A theme score of 38% doesn't mean much on its own, and disengagement isn't cheap to ignore: Gallup estimates it's now costing U.S. companies roughly $2 trillion a year in lost productivity.
On a recent Product Pulse webinar, our team walked through how Awardco Engage helps HR leaders and managers go from raw scores to real conversations. Here's a preview of what we covered.
Context turns a score into an insight
A theme score by itself doesn't tell a leader much. Is 38% good? Bad? Somewhere in the middle? Awardco Engage answers that question by pairing every result with a company-wide benchmark, so leaders can see how their team compares before deciding where to focus.
Because the platform connects directly to your HRIS, that comparison automatically cascades down the org chart. A CEO sees the whole company. A department head sees their own team, benchmarked the same way.
Heat maps surface hot spots and bright spots
Sometimes you know exactly what you're looking for. Other times you're hunting for insight and don't know where to start. That's where heat maps come in: a color-coded view that compares teams or questions across every theme at a glance, so patterns and outliers surface immediately.
And in a small but meaningful design choice, the palette uses blue and orange instead of the traditional red and green, so the data stays legible for leaders with red-green color blindness too.
Protecting people while surfacing insight
Sensitive data deserves careful handling. Awardco Engage lets admins set confidentiality thresholds (as low as three responses) so individual answers can never be reverse-engineered from a small filtered group. Sensitive metadata like age, ethnicity, or gender can also be layered into reporting for admins who need that visibility, without exposing it in the reports individual managers pull.
Less to sort through, more time to act
HR teams often say the same thing: reading through every survey comment takes hours, sometimes days. Awardco Engage is building tools to change that, using sentiment analysis to group comments by topic and tone, so teams can quickly find what's working and what needs attention, then bookmark and revisit the ones that matter most.
Recognition and engagement: Better together
None of this works in isolation. Recognition data and engagement data tell a fuller story together, and that's exactly where Awardco Engage is headed next: helping you see how appreciation and engagement move in tandem, so you can act on both with confidence.
