A Child’s Hope began with a simple decision in 2002, when its founder adopted a daughter and later visited an orphanage he had supported. Seeing the need firsthand sparked the creation of their first project in Haiti and eventually led to early work supporting orphanages in Mexico.

As they served individual orphanages, they realized the challenges ran far deeper than any single location. Orphan care had systemic gaps around the world, and they wanted to create solutions that could transform care everywhere. That shift began when the Stirling Foundation provided major funding, which allowed them to launch the Thrive Assessment and eventually build the Thrive Collective. Today, more than 300 organizations across 85 countries use these tools to learn best practices, strengthen their programs, and raise the global standard of care.

A Child’s Hope exists to elevate how the world cares for orphaned and vulnerable children. They focus on caring for children’s needs today while building capacity that will change the world for children tomorrow. This means providing therapy, education, and basic essentials right now, while also equipping orphan care professionals with training and support that helps children grow up in families whenever possible.

They offer monthly child support, fund therapists and tutors, host service trips to Mexico, lead vision trips to Kenya, and invite experts like therapists and social workers to provide training through the Thrive Collective. Whether through donating, volunteering, or sharing expertise, anyone can take part in strengthening care for children around the world. Learn how you can make a difference here.
